Can’t Wait For The Next Miracle -A Testimony

Note: I posted this testimony over a year ago on our Church’s Connect website. Let me take you back there and onto the present.

I am ashamed to only be praising GOD for what HE has done now. I should have done it sooner. I am quick to make mistakes, quick to get myself in trouble, quick to complain, quick to pray and ask for all sorts of things but slow to declare HIS goodness even after all that HE has done. So, I am now humbly taking the time. A few weeks back, Henri and I came down with the flu. We were on our way back from the Doctor’s clinic when Henri said, “Now what?” He then pointed to the dashboard with a blinking engine trouble sign. I said, oh it is not red, we can still drive. He said, “No…the car is not good, driving is now hard”. So, we immediately parked and I asked Henri to pray with me. We declared GOD’s power over our situation and asked HIM to take care of it. After praying, Henri went out to check under the hood for any leakage and found none. He then started the car and the engine trouble sign was gone and we were able to drive to the CSA garage without any problems. The car was then read for any problems and again, they found none. Just like that, our almighty GOD took care of it. This is a solid declaration of how HE still performs miracles. How all-powerful HE is that technology can’t stop HIM. That if HE chooses to answer our prayer at any moment HE can and HE will.

What about the prayers left unanswered? We have been trying to sell our house for quite a while now and soon we will have to pay double the mortgage. I wish I could also say, I don’t understand, I don’t know why HE hasn’t done anything about it. I can’t say that because I know. I know that in HIS time, this prayer has already been answered. The great I AM is the GOD of what was, what is, and what will be. HE knows and therefore HE has done…I just need to wait to be surprised at how it will work out and how HIS greatness will again be revealed. This I know.

Despite this, I never took the time to testify of what happened. GOD gave me another reason to do it. As we were making our last turn to drop off our friend Christiaan home, Henri noticed our car was belching thick, dark, blue smoke. We stopped in front of his house and stepped out to check what was going on.  There was a smell of something burning. Smoke was still coming out of the pipes before we went into the car.  Henri decided we would just try to go home as the repair garage was just a few steps from our place.  We will have it checked if we can make it. I, once again, asked Henri to pray before we drove. Once again, the LORD listened and came to our rescue. As if nothing happened, we drove home, with no smoke, no engine trouble and no hint of a burning smell. GOD carried us safely home. We still intend to have the car checked again.

Once again, HE answered when HIS children called. I can’t wait for another time. I will praise the name of our GOD, now! Who is ever faithful and all sovereign! Our living GOD, who can turn things around. There is indeed power in the Name of JESUS! So, pray without ceasing 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17. Even when we don’t deserve it, HE is faithful. One time, before we drove off, Henri bowed, closed his eyes, and prayed. I see how my husband is growing more and more dependent on our GOD! It works you see…having faith in an ever LIVING and ever LOVING GOD.

And now?

As I stated at the beginning of this blog, I posted this testimony some time ago. You must be wondering about our house for sale. Shortly after the posting of this testimony on our church’s Connect website, our old house was sold! The buyer saw the cross on our wall in one of the photos where our house was showcased. They, too, were CHRISTians and like yours truly are Asians! On the very first day we met, there was an unexplainable click between their mother and this mother. On the day when the key was turned over, she and I were already embracing each other, taking photos, like we have been friends for a long time.  She invited me and my entire family, together with another friend of mine, to a feast at their restaurant in Friesland. I don’t think that happens often! You don’t go buying someone’s house and then treat their entire family to a feast! Yet, that was the case for these women of GOD. And during my last birthday, she came, late in the night as she had to wait for the last customer to go, to bring my favorite dish and so much more, all the way from Friesland. The LORD did not just answer my prayer. HE did not just sell our house, HE gave me a wonderful friend. A gift that money can’t buy.  I often wonder, how undeserving I am of all these blessings. My GOD just keeps on surprising me. I can’t wait for more. Just like that, HE will keep on doing it and I will not stop telling the world about it for as long as I can! All glory and honor to our GOD!
